Nice video. Something has got to be done. Those figures are scary.

Might be a good job I’ve never been in an L405 yet….

Next door have a fairly new all black RRS that’s parked outside. He is getting panicky….

Post 2018 cars have UWB keys - they aren’t being stolen by relay attacks.

Disable 'keyless' entry (an Oxymoron!)
Fit something like Meta Nemesis
Fit a electrical switch disconnecting something that cannot be overridden by 'emergency starting' hacks.

Sure, it won't bring your insurance down but maybe the scrotes will walk on by once their initial attempts fail.

I wonder if I could hop a Big Delta Jet to Heathrow and set up a Pop-up shop fitting folks with a $5 Amazon switch and 4 meters of wire... I have done it enough that I can fully disassemble an L405 console in 30 mins or so. Run the switch to a place of their choice - close up the console/dash and collect my £500. Seems like there is a Knighthood somewhere in there. Cool

Crack the console...
Clip the Brown/Red wire and solder in a switch for the VBatt - Pin 1

Run that switch to a hiding place of your choice - behind the valet mode/upper glovebox seems like a natural choice (Downside of that is waiting for the screen to come up so you can enter the valet code to get in the upper glovebox) - but get creative..

"Scrotes" are looking for path of least resistance - make your L405 the more Puritanical (least 'easy') on the block... The old saying goes - I don't have to be faster than the Bear - I just have to be faster than YOU! 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'

Tell your neighbor to crack open his console... here is what his L494 wiring harness looks like...

Clip Pin 10 Brown/Red and splice in a switch. Splice in enough wire to hide the switch wherever he likes...
In the cubby... under the dash... in the glove box behind the valet function... hell he could route it to the 'boot' if he was feeling froggy - impractical, but 'scrotes' would never find that!

Here is what an L494 lever looks like in an L405...

I can neither confirm nor deny that I spliced-in during this conversion... Thumbs Up
We have this little 2A thing that helps crack down on Scrote... um... activity... I highly recommend it! 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'
