Anyone had the thermostat fail, like over night?

Mine has just gone too, although I do get out of the blue and if stuck in traffic will settle at 12 o'clock. But go down a long hill and it'll cool to @ 10 o'clock.

Well, fought my way through to the thermostat, thwarted by the torx bolts on the housing so off to buy tools tomorrow. Uploaded lots of pictures to gallery. Should have it all back together tomorrow and then the write up. .

Oh, I got the thermostat from Foundry 4x4 off the bay @ £25 + VAT ( LR price @ £41+ VAT unless duckworths dan can do better) .

when i blanked my egr off , it didnt affect the temperature gauge which still goes to the centre of the gauge..

should have got to a working temperature after a 15 mile drive though.... ... - .- -.

Could it be a faulty sender unit and the gauge is reading low.

Scarey, the engine does not warm up, stays in the blue with little or no heater output.
