It's my understanding that TDV8's have Exhaust Gas Re-Circulation (EGR) system rather than a traditional 'breather'. It vents crankcase gas / emissions back into the intake to re-burn in the combustion cycle. I'm not familiar with the petrol engine to compare sorry.

To be honest I've not even lifted the engine cover off mine and don't intend to until my warranty expires |

you got a little bit of confussion there fellas, the egr system stands for exhaust gas recirculation which does exactly what it says which is re-burning exhaust gasses for a second time. the system has nothing to do with the breather system of the engine, generally though all breather systems go back through the inlet via a pipe which is located between the turbo and airbox so finding this pipe and following it backwards you will eventually find the breather assembly itself wether that be a changable system like the td6 or a sealed system within the cam covers. sorry i cant be of more help but i have had very little to do with the tdv8 engine. |
