you have to be very careful about asking about copied sat nav discs on the forum as this contravenes forum rules.. ... - .- -.

Scarey Thanks for that, the copy was in the car, not purchased by me, what i am asking is that if anyone has the 2009 with the firmware upgrade that they may wish to sell if they have purchased the 2011/12 disc or if anyone knows where i can purchase a new one. I have looked on the navteq site and they only have the 2011/12 version which does not upogarde the firmware. But yes point taken thank you |

Well i have searched every where and there are plenty of the latest 2011/2012 dvds but can not find the 2009/2010 anywhere even navteq dont list it any more, i assume that i can not go straight to the 2011 DVD without having done the 2009/10 upgrade first?

Interesting. Presumably you have done the 2009/10 firmware upgrade Scarey? Has anybody tried the 2011/12 disc without the 2009/10 firmware upgrade? Happy to have a PM conversation if people feel more comfortable... Is this 100% the case? In the back of my mind I have it that I might have read somewhere that a stealer (or somebody with a Faultmate - if that is the right bit of kit) could re-enable it? Perhaps I am not remembering correctly though! ----------------------------------------------- 2016MY FFRR 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography Loire Blue 2007MY FFRR 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE Tonga Green |

i did the 2009/10 firmware upgrade before the 2011/12 map upgrade so mine went through the proper route so to speak, but i'm 99.9% sure you dont need the firmware upgrade to get the benefit of the map upgrade...if theres anyone near me that wants to try it ,they are welcome to pop in for a coffee and have a go..

it appears that the 2011/12 map disc also has a firmware upgrade so if you go from a 2005 'ish disc to that you dont loose the nav on the go feature but if you go from 2005 'ish to the 2009/10 map disc ,you do.. ... - .- -.
