I have got a little niggly "issue" when starting the SC. If it has been sitting still for a while (say a few hours) and I want to start, it fires up and that stops. Start again and it goes without an issue. I think it is fuel starvation for the first second or two and I tried to allow for more prime time but that hardly makes a difference.
It may be that there is vapour forming in the fuel line (bear in mind temperatures are almost always around 30 plus here) and the prime "pressurizes" the vapour bubble so the pump stops priming. The vapour bubble goes through the injectors. stalls the engine and then second start it goes. But that is just my current theory.
The car runs fine, although on "cold" the idle revs "fight" a bit to stay stable and sometimes coming off the throttle at a turn/traffic light etc., sees the revs dip a bit low.
So I am wondering if anyone has any other ideas on what is going on. For info, the EML has been on in the past (mostly go-slow driving) but has been off most of the time as my new route home (new apartment) is virtually traffic jam free. The fault was left bank rich (2.34% left and 1.43% right bank long term fuel trim) so not that high. Is probably related to the UHEGO sensor that will be replaced soon. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
