LR Assist - Courtesy car

Gents,

Quick question for you guys, unfortunately I am out of the country this week otherwise I'd check in the policy book, so I'll have to resort to your valued and expert opinions.

I have a full LR extended warranty on the FF and it is booked in on Monday to get a couple of minor issues rectified, but the dealer says they have no courtesy cars available that week at all.

I have a real need for a car that week and knowing LR efficiency, I could well be without mine for the whole week if not longer...

Is a courtesy/hire car something that Land Rover assist can/will provide if i give them a call, or is it up to the specific dealer to provide?

Ally

If its warranty work I'd imagine LR are like the rest, they will do the work but have no obligation to keep you mobile Sad

Think OFT should force them all to change this as it would certainly make them fix it quicker and if you buy a new or even slightly used FFRR then it's no small amount of money and you'd expect to be kept mobile in at least a disco or SSRR hse

I your vehicle is immobile and has to be towed to the dealers and you have Land Rover assist with your warranty then you get a courtesy car nothing special mind but if you drove it to the dealers for minor work no matter how lengthy I'm afraid the warranty won't cover a hire car. My advise for the future is to get Land Rover Assist out first then it,s up to them to fix at he scene which if they can't the they take your car away and you are garenteed your hire car , then hang out for the automatic you are entitled to which usually means a better car. 2008 MY Supercharged

Thanks guys, car's mobile, it just needs a minor coolant leak and squeaky fan belt sorted. Not something LR assist would respond to unfortunately...

Well what happens if it all leaks out before the book in date??

i'd be tempted to let some drain off and let the warning light come on and call them out again Smile

is it a weeping pipe or something tha could be made, a 'tin'y bit worse if its going to be swapped anyway?
