Rear propshaft repair?

Just before Xmas my rear propshaft failed. Turned out to be the front cv joint, the rubber boot had split letting in water etc and then failing.
The RAVE book says that these are sealed units no replacement available and a new propshaft is required - at a cost of £800+vat. I could not get a new one and ended up getting a 2nd hand one from a breakers yard.

Anyway I had a look at the old propshaft and it was pretty easy to remove the defective cv joint but where do I get a replacement joint?

Has anyone carried out a repair on rear propshaft or any ideas where I might get a replacement cv joint

Regards Graham

My dad did his on his disco. Will ask him where he got his from. I'm sure he just replaced the bearings as the other parts were ok. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
