Fitting 2010 Vents to earlier models NOW SORTED

Chaps

Quick question bought some slightly used genuine Super Charged 2010 vents . I noticed that they have a black plastic section clipped onto the back that is easily removed. This doesnt appear on the back of my 2008 vents .I have managed to fit one but had to remove the black plastic backing but wondering if its required. It maybe that the gap is wider on a 2010 + model hence the extra thickness the plastic backing section gives. Reason I ask is that the vent does not appear to be totally flush. It could just be my imagination though Rolling Eyes

The holes on the actual vents allow for a slight bit of movement , if for instance you think the vent is too far in when tightening up , just slightly pull the vent forward beforehand ….

Strange how your old vents didn't have the plastic at the back of them and i don't really think there would be any difference between a 06 , 08 , 2010 Mdl in terms of vent thickness …

I just changed mine the other day … Thumbs Up

Yes I saw that look very tasty. They just did not want to fit with the black plastic section fitted. Thanks I think your spot on and I had thought that prior to walking a few feet for the first time admiration glance Thumbs Up It would be nice if the black plastic had of fitted as it looks better when you peer through the vents. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I've swapped the orginal double to triple vents on my old 2003 FFRR and more recently swapped the triple vents on my 2010MY to the 2010 supercharged version without having to remove break or amend any part of the side vents in any way Confused Just a straight swap Thumbs Up

Thanks guys after going back out and removing again I fitted the black plastic backing piece and with a bit of jiggling it does fit with the backing piece Thumbs Up All now fixed. Just looking at them Mick I think the colour coded version may be nicer but its done now and SWMBO will kill me if I donate more cash in the near future to my FFRR. Just the Super Charger 20's to get and im done Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
