Intermittent Parking sensor problem

Hi all,

Slightly odd problem with the parking sensors. Was wondering if anybody has had the same or could recommend a course of action.

Whenever I start the car and engage reverse, I get a long (rear) parking sensor beep and the PDC button flashes. After driving for a while, the fault will fix itself and the sensors work properly. If I then turn the car off and immediately start it again, the problem returns. Confused

I was thinking that moisture was getting into the sensor connections, which subsequently dried out during driving, hence they started to work again. However the fact that turning the car off seems to bring the problem back would suggest that this is not the case.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance! -----------------------------------------------

Wonder if it's a pdc module going faulty. A blown cap inside could lead to discrepancies in voltage trimming/provision.

The modules are fairly rubbish.

If you have towbar electrics that are gen LR plug a trailer in or a lightboard if the problem goes away you have a fault on the rear as the trailer lights disable the rear pdc if the fronts are fine they will work fine onto no6 Range Rover

Just to complete this topic....

I did the 'clicking' test and driver's side rear sensor was not clicking. All the rest were. Spoke to local stealer who had a spare in stock and said I could 'try without buy' to see if replacing the sensor cured the problem. It did! Very Happy

Incidentally a small pair of hands can manage to 'pop out' the rear sensors without removing the bumper, provided it is either of the two end ones. The middle two would probably need the bumper to come off.

Thanks for the help all. Thumbs Up -----------------------------------------------
