Had a couple of absolutely terrible jurneys in the snow over the weekend. The car wouldn't grip, it wouldn't go up hills, it was uncomfortable and I really thought we were going to get properly stuck a few times. God I'm glad that's over.*





* It was a poxy hire car, an Opel Astra, in the French Alps. Tyres were on the wear indicators (checked the bodywork when we collected but didn't think to check the tyres), the snow chains were all fubar when we took them out of the box, and the car itself was just a generally unpleasant place to be! Between those of us travelling we have a Classic, 2 x P38, an L322 and a Disco 3 sitting on drives/in airport car parks, and we ALWAYS drive to the Alps - how and why anyone managed to convince us to fly/hire this time I really don't know! NEVER again!! )

I'm off to the French Alps in mid Jan, but taking the FFRR. Looking forward to the trip!!
