Back in the market & on the hunt!

That title sounds like I'm newly single Rolling with laughter

Anyway, sold my 08 plate TDCI Defender so now am after a FFRR. Desired spec is:

    TD6 (must have)
    Facelift (must have)
    FSH (must have)
    Privacy Glass (optional)
    Side steps (optional)
    Towbar (optional)

Budget £16k

I'm probably one of the few buyers who genuinely doesn't mind what colour combination I get. Ideally Bonatti/Stornoway but I like the greens, slivers & blues too!

A quick shortlist is here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-LAND-ROVER-...9828296813

Also this one:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...?logcode=p

Has anyone got any thoughts on either or generally for what I'm buying? The pitch in the eBay one amuses me!

Thanks,

Ivor. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Hi Mick,

Out of interestt - why?

Is it because of the VSE spec? Or the wording of the other advert?

The eBay one sems to have a brand new gearbox so surely not to be sniffed at??? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

To me i'd go for the VSE if you want low miles and can knock them down enough to get a warranty on it, or the another with the warranty and still knock it down some Smile

I would buy the Autotrader one it looks VERY nice and has much better mileage. It also looks standard which is great. I don't think that will hang around so be quick or may have it myself Laughing

Thumbs Up Really like the interior as well of the AT one ...

I just found it strange why the Ebay guy has had 4 FFRR's and on everyone he has blown the gearbox , i know they can be pretty common …. but to have owned 4 and do the same Shocked Shocked

Possibly because he is in the plant game so towed lots of mini diggers at 3.5T payload?

I know that they are rated for that but as an all day every day job? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I know of a RRS that has had 6 rear diffs & 1 gearbox - he ran a demolition firm & towed plant as his job.

Offered it to me with a new diff but I said no! Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
