paralell Imports?

What's the story with these types of cars these days?

I've heard they get the same manufacturers warranty as a UK supplied car and the values are the same?

Are they to be avoided?

A parallel import is a car bought in from another country but with a UK spec.

A popular place for parallel imports is Holland where prices are cheaper. It is now much easier to buy from abroad but there are still drawbacks.

Buying may be cheaper but when you go to sell, you won’t get as much as an official UK model.

Savings available on European new cars depend upon exchange rates, and you may find specification and warranty packages are less comprehensive than UK cars.

When i had the FFRR 03 Vogue Diesel, at the time of buying i did not know it was a Spanish import vehicle, I had it for 9 months took it along to trade it in and that was when i found out .....

At the time of purchase then it was 46k , LR dealer would only give me 27k Big Cry Plus he told me different parts on European specced vehicles come under different warranty procedures..........

Took it back to where i had previously got it from kicked up Censored and managed to get 41k back in the form of a cheque from the company , which i put down as payment for a fully loaded XC90 Rolling Eyes .

So imports can be a Double edged sword ......... What you gain on savings could cost you more in the long run ......
