Newbie, several questions........

Just traded in my 2007 Vogue for a Oct 2010 Vogue SE 3.6TDV8 (so presumably "model year 2010") and only discovered this site a few days ago !!
Wish I'd found this a few years ago. Very Happy

Got a few queries on my new one:
1. are the heater settings linked to the key fob (they always revert to "Auto") and if so is this dealer-only change Very Happy ?
2. the fan is audible even at position1, where it used to be near-silent on my old one; any thoughts??
3. does anybody know what the "Off-road view" means in "Appearances" on the instrument cluster menu ?
4. is the "folding mirrors on locking" a dealer-only change as well ?
5. Of course on my 2nd day of ownership after 20mins playing with the sat-nav and seat settings the battery was flat........... So further moan: "never had that on my old one"
Called LR Assistance who turned up in less than 1 hour on a Saturday; well impressed. The chap explained re updates/different batteries on new cars; how can I tell if updates have been done ?

Sorry for all the questions and I did search for all the above as welll.

All in all still very impressed with the car. Thumbs Up

Thanks for yhelp.

I would be interested in answers to questions 3 (do you mean the visual option with led instrument panel) and question 4 ...

As a two year old car, I would get everything checked under warranty, certainly the fan and battery.

Maybe if you'll pay for the re-coding relating to the mirrors and heating, they'll check the other things out for you. If you purchased it from a main dealer, I would expect their aftersales guys to take care of these things for you. I would expect that they would set up the car to your satisfaction as they would with a new one. Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Re: Newbie, several questions........

Heater - no idea.

Fan - seem to remember reading that a problem with fan noise was fixed with a software update (are you sure the rear vents in the back of the console aren't making the noise?).

Off-road view - put it in low range, Mud and Ruts, and you get 4WD info where the speedometer is.

Mirrors - apparently can't be changed.

Battery - speak to dealer with VIN re software updates and gel battery.

some updates:
1. Off road view indeed as per Trommel's reply, thanks for that.
2. Mirrors can be changed by dealer only (£66 + VAT; the dealer I bought the car from is 170miles away)
3. await dealer reply re battery/update

Thanks again

Can they make it work from the switch now? I was under the impression that it was either automatic or nothing.

I can only repeat what the dealer said: they have to "hook it up to the computer and undo the mirrors-folding-on-locking-the-car".
Apparently this can take up to half an hour.

Because I hve to double lock the car even when in my garage in order to avoid further dead battery I reay don't see the point of the mirrors constantly going in and out.
But hey , at £80 I can live with it.
