How do I tell a genuine facelift?

Hi everyone,

After less than a year without a Range Rover, I am coming back to the fold!

Am after an early TD6 Facelift Vogue (or VSE?) on probably an 05 plate (may get v lucky with a 06?) but obviously I don't want to buy a DIY facelifted one!

How can I tell if it is genuine - are there some internal upgrades about as I know that 54 plate ones had the touchscreen nav already so it's not as simple as that!

I have PM'd winslo on here about his but have had no reply yet Big Cry

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

I know someone with a lovely "55" reg TD6 VSE + RE in Java with Jet/Ivory two tone and 54k miles if of interest? I think he wants around £19 - £20k for it...

Hi "Pie" -

I believe just look for a "6A" in the VIN - which denotes 2006 MY. My car is an '05 reg early facelift with this. I can't help with exact specs, however, other than there were also some colour changes ie Buckingham blue instead of Adriatic.

Hope it helps ?

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Thanks guys - what about the gearbox on the facelifted TD6 was it the same old GM 5 speed or a 6 speeder?

RangeRovers.net being Yankee biased only talks about the petrol version gearbox??? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Thanks guys, so far I have really just the front grille & lights, rear lights & 6A on the VIN.

Anything else, especially on the interior? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

That sounds like my car exactly other than the RSE is is rare to find in half decent nick as they are higher in demand and i guess easier to sell...

But if you dont want to spend the extra cash a retrofit over the seat option can save a lot of money and at least be moveable to another car should the worst happen or yours is off road being repaired for a while..
