She was originally a he called 'Roger' as called by many of the previous owners. Including the last one, Colin, from Sutton Coldfield. I have a list of them all (names and addresses) with the bought and sold mileage alongside each from new. I’m sorry but I didn’t think she suited ‘Roger’ and is now referred to as ‘The Old Girl’
From new she was one of the original Chelsea Tractors and resided in central London for many years. The history file is brilliant and contains every document/ receipt that’s ever been issued regarding her, bar fuel…
A '93 Vogue SE which was plated L110 GYY when I bought her nearly 5 years ago but I've got her on an ageless plate now. Have tried to keep her as original as possible and nowadays she does between 3 & 5K miles per year. 116K all in. I bought the L322 specifically to get her off the road for some TLC. There’s a coupe of bits of rust underneath that need addressing but apart from that she’s pretty much all there. Regards

Now that, sir, is a fine looking barge !

For the uninitiated - it's a Range Rover Classic. Alot of the visitors to this forum probably never experienced the highs and low of Classic ownership. My particular favourite moment was hand cranking a '72 V8 at 6 am in the winter ( Shocked ) - and you thought only FF's had battery problems !

Great cars, all of them

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

Hand cranking was indeed a laugh but the engine was such low compression I think it only produced 90hp . 2008 MY Supercharged

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

Had 1984 V8, with tan cloth upholstery, automatic, sunroof and the same alloy wheels. Didn't get to use it much but when I did drive it for the first time (at night on a dirt road with NO street lights or other lights anywhere near me) the light switch failed (made by Lukas : The Inventor of Darkness) and the rest of the drive was very "interesting" Smile

Was close to the Dutch/Belgian border so I bet the local customs guys (hunting for smugglers) may have taken me for a smuggler coming back from a drop (weed in Belgium), while in fact the only illegal bit was the car not being registered at the time Smile

Sad to see her go, when I sold her. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

You see, that's what a RR should be. No blink, just understated elegance following function.

Probably the right time to post landyman's youtube channel

http://www.youtube.com/user/1landyman1

Start at 'range rover #1' and work your way up to the finished article !

Wow, brings back wonderful memories! I used to deliver new RR classics to their owners and collect and return them from their first free 1000mile service from 1989 to around 1991 aged 18... Imagine how i loved my job!

Thats how i got the RR bug!

Craig Thumbs Up
