Just checked my spare wheel, only had the TDV8 for a week, and the 2 web staps and plastic bit that fitted into the lower tail gate, to assist in it's removal, that I had on my TD6, are not there.

Is this right or has it been removed / missed off on production?

Not they are not there you just have to be stronger

I wonder if you can retro fit them? They are bloody useful.

Spoken to stealer who said RR removed them for some odd reason.
They have had many comments on the removel.
They are going to see if they can be retor fitted.

Yep, to save them a few quid!! Most buyers won't even consider such things until it's too late and the money is in the dealers back pocket. That's how they get away with fitting those "space saver" spares. No buyers ever thought to say "Sod off!, I'm not buying that car without a proper spare!", if more had, the manufacturers would have left full sized spares in.

This morning, the guy from LR assistance went into the spare wheel well on mine to get to the compressor and commented that he was glad it had the straps, as the later models don't and some of his colleagues were injuring themselves lugging spare wheels out all day with no straps to help! Maybe a few law suits will persuade them to start fitting the straps again.
