WTD: Mk3 SatNav CD with TMC/C-IQ

Hi, although I do have an up to date (11/12) map for my MK3 SatNav it does not support TMC/C-IQ.

So, I'm looking for an older CD with TMC support, can anyone help please as I would like to try out the TMC system?

do you have a tmc receiver in amongst all the electronics in the back, if no then no nav update will give you it...

Thanks Scarey, I haven't physically checked that the radio receiver is compatible or if there is a physically separate receiver. I guess I would have to cross check the receiver part no.

However as the car was sold with TMC and the options show up in the Computer/SatNav menus (it seem to also know it needs to tune to Classic FM), I took this as reasonable evidence that the radio receiver is TMC enabled and I only needed the appropriate CD.

strange that the 11/12 disc doesn't support tmc, or does it but the car hasn't got the receiver...

Perhaps my faulty understanding but this is what I have gleaned so far.

The earliest discs (CD) were not TMC enabled. Then after about 2004 both TMC and non TMC discs existed. I have no idea how you specified a TMC or non-TMC disc

In 2010 no further versions with TMC were available because of the licence fee (circa £50 extra for the disc).

So I am looking for a 2004 -2009 is CD to try out the system. I think it says iTMC (or possibly C-IQ) on the front cover of the disc sleeve.

The Radio Module (BM54) is TMC compatible on the early cars. As you say, it's the map CD that allows it to work.

I'm unaware of any MK3 CD that allows the TMC to work though. TMC works fine if you upgrade to the MK4 Nav (a worthwhile upgrade!)

If you upgrade the BM54 to one of the later ones the TMC gets more advanced, as well as having aux in - just sayin...

Thanks Martin, I don't know about the upgrade to the Mk4. I like the "clunky" Mk3, it's sort of "steam-punky" Cool and the sonorous tones of the SatNav voice (with the Hi-Fi set to Concert Hall) are wonderful.
