United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey
Best Car in the World

Hi all,

Finally got my ff. Have to say that it is definitely the best car in the world...bar none Wink
Most amazing feeling to know that as you drive along, you're in the classiest thing there is.

Not been getting the best fuel economy though...16 mpg average so far. Must just be the addictive torque! Very Happy

Yes, would agree with all of the above, the ride is even better than the Jag XJ which supposedly had a 'magic carpet' ride.

Back in 1998 a dealer said to me once i have one i will never be able to settle for a normal car. Ive had many top end cars since, 2 Porsche 911's, Mercedes SL, BMW 645Ci and so on, but ive also had 3 x P38's, a RRS S/C and 3 x L322, culminating in the best yet, my TDV8. I cant stop going back after being disappointed with all the normal stuff, if you can call them normal.

They are indeed the best cars in the world, an addiction that im happy to have.

As for reliability, P38's aside, they have all performed better than the german stuff (except the 911's) so as far as im concerned they cant be beaten.

I have to admit to being disappointed with the RRS, too plastic and felt cheaply built, i probably felt that way because id had 2 x L322's prior.

I always think why do people buy them as you get less of everything compared to the disc its based on, less space inside, less capability when the going gets a bit tougher, less MPG, less money in your pocket due to higher insurance...

The LR range should be
Defender
FL
D4
RR

non of this epoo and half fat stuff, It just dilutes the range and takes away from land rover what it really does, a superb off roader, a smaller one for people who dont want to always go off road and dont need huge luggage space, a nice big hard enough off roader for people who need most of what a defender can do but want some luxury, and then people who want all the luxury but still to be able to do most of what the disco's can do in standard guise Smile

Don't get me wrong, I love my FFRR, despite the current faults.

BUT, I seem to be missing the magic carpet ride. I feel every bump in the road, the same bumps I felt in my BMW. I'm running on 18" LR wheels and Goodyear Wranglers. Is that the problem, if not, where do I get my magic carpet ride?
