For those that don't know/care, I have my first car still, my Mini, I've got it insured on a classic policy with a limited mileage of 1500 miles. So, saying as it's almost winter and the snow is bound to be here quite soon, I thought I'd play it safe and buy a car to run around in for when the snow does come. I don't really fancy trying to take the Merc out as it'll be worse than useless with it's RWD, Auto box and traction control you can't really turn off.
So, bought this for £500...

A 1998 Escort GTi, 75k genuine miles, 3 owners, MOT until July and tax until March. In all fairness, it's actually a cracking car, 1.8 16v, half leather, electric gizmos etc, quite fun to drive too. I had bought one before I bought the Range Rover a couple of years ago too and I regret selling it.
So the dilemma came for insurance, the Mini won't be used at all unless it's a dry sunny day so swapped the insurance over from that to the Escort. The insurance company needed the closing mileage from the Mini and the current mileage for the Escort. Gave the Mini mileage of 66397, then a pause, "Are you sure this mileage is correct? the mileage you gave us in March was 66367"
Yeah, that's right, I did a whopping 30 miles this year in the Mini which is tragic. Next year, I've vowed to use it a bit more. 2006 Mercedes CLS

But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C...
