As you can see rainy season in Lagos is not over yet and this was when the water was already coming down. Note that this is one of the main streets in Lagos and the suspension is in off-road setting !!! Needless to say the poor sedans suffer a lot in this weather. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Almost as bad as Scotland

It's been years since I went to Nigeria. Still remember walking 30 feet from car to hotel and being utterly soaked to the skin!

Although it is a lot warmer than Scotland it can rain like you wouldn't believe. This time the flooding was not that bad, water was 5 cm lower than last one. Poor stewards still had flooded rooms though (sandbags were too late).

Despite the warm rain it still isn't nice to be walking through it from car to office without an umbrella !!!

As for doing what they are made for, now I understand why so many Lagosians drive FFRRs and RRSs as the streets are terrible, I saw a Toyota Yaris rip off its oilpan plug a few weeks ago. I am the only one laughing when this weather hits and the potholes get bigger and bigger  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Tell me about it, I'm in Nigeria now, Toyota Hilux's just don't have the same ride or anything else for that matter. Bring on the dry season.

Bloody Toyota's are not all they are supposed to be, our (company) Landcruiser that my wife uses is far less reliable than Range Rovers are supposed to be according to the statistics. The Cruiser is in the shop at least once every 2 months for some major stuff and our mechanic is one of the best in Lagos (only one that is allowed to touch the FFRR). Quite funny actually, the FFRR is doing very well, no issues and the LC is breaking down all the time.

Toyotas from my own experience are far less reliable than the average person thinks they are.

I finally lost it with our local dealer when the 5th injector on our T180 verso split and sprayed fuel all over the engine bay.... Nothing too bad they said but when it was dropped off and i showed the mechanic he soon shouted to turn the engine off....

Let us just stick to our FFRRs, they are not perfect but pretty damn close  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
