Today I finished my DAB install, really all quite fiddly, but certainly nothing beyond the average joe.

Looks good Dan. Could you use the intravee for an iPhone for calls etc? Also could you give us a breakdown of costs for the components req? |

You can't use intravee to take calls with the kit I've got - there may be some alpine modules that do allow this though... Costs, hmmm: Intravee box: £150 Alpine KCA-420i: £35 Alpine TUA-100DAB: £235 It's a lot to have DAB in the car - however the ipod and future MP3 changer capability (without having to upgrade the BM54 radio unit) is a great benefit. I must admit, reception on my drive to work this morning was less than perfect, but I need to sort the antenna out I think. |

It listens for the "Remote Lock" iBus command on the network then it broadcasts the "Mirror Fold" command. Then does it the other way round when you unlock the car. Dan |

You already have the BM54 in your car though? Unless you just want the new one for the Aux Input? In which case I would consider Intravee as I looked into getting the later BM54 units but they are a, difficult to find and b, expensive. I didnt change my screen, that's just a library pic that suited as it is exactly my setup. But our head unit is a BMW head unit. If you JUST wanted to play your MP3's you could just skip out the TUA-100DAB or if you want the whole lot plus CD changer you could do this: There is a list of all compatible devices here: http://www.intravention.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1178.0 |

I do, however someone left an iPod in my car once and I never saw them again! So it is purely a car audio solution. I've never used the thing in anger. |

Nice diagrams Dan, yeah I'm after a new bm54 with aux, but at 400 its looking like its not worth it!! And I don't think you have full ipod controls with that either. |

No, you just get a 3.5mm jack. Intravee is £150, KCA420 is £35-£40 So for under £200 you get the whole lot with future expansion ability = Win. |
