Whats more reliable td6 or tdv8?

Been noticing theres sum tdv8s around the same price as 06-07 td6s albeit with higher mileage.Had a tdv8 to use for a week 3 years ago and it was really nice to drive albeit it was 2 month old so should have been.
Do they hgave their own specific problems?Or the v8 diesel a sturdier built machine?

Speaking as an owner of a TD6 , GET A TDV8 Thumbs Up Seriously if its just a case of higher milage it's a no brainer.
The TDV8 has a more reliable gear box quieter and more powerful engine and a fresher dash board . 2008 MY Supercharged

four zone climate
remote park heater
and no ugly kid windows.

Really is it that big a diffrence?
Ive never drove a td6 so cant compare i just expected it to be less powerfull and maybe less reliable?

As mentioned, TDV8 is so much more than the engine. You get the whole load of interior and exterior improvements too.

TDV8 anyday. Seriously.

Nice ZF 6 speed gearbox instead of the GM item in the TD6 and the engine is a dream for a diesel. Used to have:
2005 FFRR 4.4 Vogue - BRC LPG Conversion & Remapped

Now have:
2008 SSRR 3.6 TDV8 - HSE and plenty of toys

TDV8 Thumbs Up

Have owned both TD6 and 3.6 TDV8 FFRR's ... I am now thinking about looking for another and it will be will be a TDV8.

The TD6 engine was fine - but with a little improved performance the 3.6 TDV8 was effortlessly smooth and pulled like an Intercity train when it came to charging up steep hills or overtaking etc Whistle

I briefly drove the latest 4.4 TDV8 brand spanking new RR and was a little disappointed to be honest - Admittedly, I didn't get it on the motorway but after taking one for charge around some countryside rat runs - I found it was forever changing gear when braking and accelerating and too much was going on with the transmission - after I had pressed the accelerator - just didn't feel as responsive as my 2yr old 3.6 was at the time...

...Mind you, having said that - it was still a Censored lovely Range Rover and will happily test drive another 4.4 TDV8 in an effort change my opinion of them Wink
