DPF Warning

Hi had to get LR assistance out due to loss of power because the DPF warning came on and would not allow me to go on a run to clear it.

Day one warning that DPF was full, drove mytbe 10 more miles that day, day 2 DPF - take to dealer. Tried to, but loss of power, so got LR assistance out, who cleared the issue by regeneration.

Is this a common recurring issue, I have a 2011 VSE, hope not as I dont always drive over 40 mph for 20 mins or more

Thanks

Shaun

Are you doing a lot of short journeys?

What petrol station do you use to fill up as it sounds like the fuel could be poor quality and thus sooting up the DPF quickly, or the car isn't ever getting hot enough to clean it.

Does it get driven hard at all or just wafted around in?

Short journeys during the week, but usually a long run on the motorway at the weekend. Petrol usually from Sainsbury.

Yeah, we had this a couple of times on SWMBO's Jag XF. The dealer said it was not getting enough use but I dispelled that theory by taking it for a decent drive every weekend. Anyway, we changed fuel from Sainsburys to BP (just the regular stuff, not ultimate) and never had an issue since then.

Allegedly there's no difference but I can only speak as I find. Supermarket fuel was simply not doing the car any good.

Dom.

just every 3rd fillup try using BP instead of sainsburys as BP and Shell usually have more detergents in that clean the system more, and i think they have a higher bio % as well, more like 10% instead of the minimum 5%
