United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black
2004 Vogue sat nav not working

New here, so appologies if this has been covered before. I've done a quick search but didn't find anything.

The Sat-nav on my 2004 Vogue has stopped working. The sat-nav options have disappeared from the screen, and there's no red light on the front of the dvd drive in the boot. I have checked the fuse in the glove box which is ok. I also poked a multimeter in the loom plugs on the back of the cd drive and did find 12v on one of the terminals. The rest of the audio system works fine. Any ideas? Do I need a new CD drive?

Thank you in advance.

Slim

have you tried unplugging it and then back to give it a reboot?

Thanks for the advice.

I've had the unit out to check that there wasn't a fuse on the back and at that point unplugged it all.

There's no power light on the unit so the disc will not eject. It seems completely dead.

Regards

Slim

check to see if you have any signs of there has been some water back there..corrosive marks or something in the cables or at the cd player..

clean the cable plugs with electrical cleaner

If the fuse is ok, there is power getting TO the unit but it doesn't light up and you can't eject the disc, it seems like the unit could be dead.

Keep an eye on eBay for a spare. As yours is the older BMW version there should be plenty there that will fit.

here's some to look at:

Had a similar problem on my M5 ages ago and traced it back to an inline fuse powering the CD drive.

It was located quite a way back from the unit so it's worth tracing the cabling back.

Cheers,

Phil
