I got mine about 2 days ago an I'm well pleased! Obviously cheaper options out there but it's brilliant! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

I have had mine since just after it was released. It's a great device. Trouble is keeping it out of the hands of my 4 year old daughter's hands. Paul

Irony, Mick?

Are they worth it over a laptop?

I have an iphone already and always wondered if they're just going to be a bigger version? 2006 Mercedes CLS

Instant on. Uber portable. Silent (no rattling keys as you type or fan)
Does 90% of what you use a laptop for - so I'd say you have it in addition rather than instead of a laptop.

If most of what you do on your laptop is browse the web rather than productive work (by which I mean loads of Microsoft Office type stuff), then a tablet like the iPad is great. Paul

Agreed, and the converse is true - I had one for a while but found I had to carry it and the laptop around, extra stuff, another charger.

I've deployed about 40 iPads at work so far, they've gone mostly to Exec types who don't use laptops, so ideal for paperless board meetings, reading email on trains / planes etc with modest need for typing long replies. Put iWork on them so if docs or spreadsheets need updating, it is at least feasible. Feedback so far is universally positive.

It's a lovely thing. Graham
