Nah, he needs to be more specific, I can't think of ANY single component that would make ALL the rear lights come on! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Still wouldn't explain ALL.

The light switch would be responsible for the normal rears, and the rear fogs.
The brake lights are controlled by the brake light switch.
The reversing lights are controlled by a switch on the gear box/lever.

So if it was ALL the rear lights, ALL the above would all have to have the same problem at the same time - not very likely!

bad earths can cause weird things to happen, but this doesn't sounds very likely until we know which lights are and aren't coming on.

I also wonder if the hight level brake lights coming on too? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

My guess is that he is exaggerating with his "ALL LIGHT" comment. I will try to find out more.

A faulty rear sam could cause this......although I'm unsure if the car in question has one Laughing
