How do you qualify as a chauffeur?

So i've been looking into chauffeuring, and was wondering what the legal requirements are.

I've looked all over the internet, and websites are saying you need to be over 21, you need to be over 25, you need to have 3 years experience of driving blah blah.

Then some mention a course you have to go on, and others dont.

If anyone knows more about this, your help would be appreciated.

Oh, and this is chauffeuring for 5 door, 5 seater cars, not limos Thumbs Up

Different areas have different rules, speak to the local authority of the area you are planning working

If you are going to be a sole trader (rather than driving for someone else) think you need to be licensed by your local authority (at least you do in South Cambs). They do CRB checks and issue you with a taxi plate that you just leave in the boot (I spend too much time talking to the people who ferry me around). I think they check that your insurance is valid for hire and reward too.

If you want to take it very seriously, there is a course run Bentley (I think Rolls Royce do one too). Supposed to be very, very good (and expensive).

This site gives some good information, though I think it mostly applies to London, your probably need to check with your local authority.
