Wing mirror sensors?

Hi Guys
Are there any sensors in the pax wingmirror that relate to the EAS or any other onboard witchcraft? I cleared my EAS fault this morning and thought I would check the BCM and it pinged up a fault with the wingmirror. Any ideas? Will get the full fault when I get home.

actual fault is: "Passenger door mirror vertical potentiometer: defective" [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

The vertical potentiometer is used when you put the car in reverse and the wing mirror dips so that you can see the kerb. It only dips if the mirror adjuster is set to the driver's side mirror.

It is telling you that the sensor that reads the vertical position of the mirror is a bit dodgy. Probably corroded a little. Mine has the same error. Do you notice that the mirror doesn't always dip properly or doesn't always return back to the correct position?

It's not related to the EAS.

That's a bonus. Yer my mirror has had a bit of a strop a few times so sounds about right. Do you know where the per thingy lives in the mirror? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Not exactly, but if you pop the back off I'm sure you'll find it. I've no idea if it is a separately serviceable item or whether you need a new mirror. A bit of WD40 sprayed liberally might help, and you may be able to get some in there without removing the back of the mirror if you pop out the glass or just tilt it and use the straw on the nozzle.
