Who else has a TD6 and feel it's OK for power - esp anyone with a BAS remap? I've been offered some potty trade in prices for my Audi so I may be out on the money... Big Cry

May go for a nice TD6 plus remap, and keep the Audi too ... Whistle Graham

I'm happy with my TD6. plenty of grunt for my use. 30mpg+ on decent runs. I would suggest you go for a drive in one before you rule it out. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Hi,

Well, I did try one a couple of years ago (before we bought the D3) and it didn't feel too good compared to the TDV6 in the D3.... I'll do another trial I think. Save me £8k or more... Graham

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

I've got one as well, due an engine and box service and flush mind and i get about 21-22 about town without loads of booting but get about 25-26 on the mways as i dont tend to hang about and the ffrr is so comfy at speed.

If you want to sit at 50-60 behind a fast paced lorry(They do exist Wink ) then you can easy see over 34mpg out of it without anymore trying Smile

Min hasnt been remapped and has done 127k but i am slowly cleaning out the fuel system with some BioD but not in massive amounts so over the next few months before it starts freezing it should be in much better nick, plus a lady owner has had the car before me so its neve been really thrashed, as the amount of built up soot in the exhaust often shows....

If you want a TDV8 though just start looking around some auction houses for ones that are traded in before the weather gets too cold, then with the cash you save stick a warranty on it Smile

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover SE Td6 Zermatt Silver

I like the way they drive but there is a noticeable difference in acceleration compared to the 3.6 TDV8 if its raw speed your after.

THe TD6 will accelerate up to 90 and cruise there all day without much effort but if you want to cruise at 70-80 then its the perfect compromise.

I just drove back 250 miles this evening from Stockton-On-Tees in one go in a TD6 and it was very comfortable journey and returned about 30mpg. Not quite the same torque as a TDV8 but very adequate and the five speed gearbox never misses a beat but the changes are a little more obvious.

Overall I would say the TD6 is very good value for money at the moment and a pleasure to drive unless your other car is an RS6. Thumbs Up

Now sorted Very Happy

Have agreed a deal on a very clean 57 plate TDV8 Vogue in Stornoway Grey with Black leather (yeah I know, I said I wanted a pale interior...)

Thanks to everyone who's offered advice and suggestions, especial thanks to Gary (gazellio) for the tipoff!

Much appreciated.

Take delivery on Friday all being well. Graham

Many congrats Alan, though I'm disappointed you gave up on the self build option!

RE interior colour you could always get a job lot of leather dye? Rolling with laughter

Bet you can't wait, hope you're not holding your breath for the snow in UK by Friday though? I think it'll take a bit longer to reach us down South! Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!
