I am getting my hallway and lounge carpets replaced and intend to install some engineered Oak flooring. At the same time I will also be getting the stairs and landing carpeted.

Can anyone recommend a firm in the north-west?

We used engineered Oak from Topps Tiles, I think in fact they were calling it solid Oak, but in reality it's maybe three mm's of nice Oak, on top of more solid Oak, but smaller bits stuck together. It's good stuff, no real difference to the real thing, but half the price (from memory around £25-30psm instead of £60 for the real thing).

The great thing is it's easy to fit, just tongue and groove, and glued down.  Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!
