Does anybody remember the big impressive whooshing sounds that the Wizard of Oz made? I may have a small wizard living under the dash of this 2003 Td6 I am evaluating for purchase.

Whenever I open the door after the car has sat for more that just a few minutes, there is a quite audible whooshing sound from the driver and passenger footwells. It only lasts for a couple of seconds, then it stops. It's as if the HVAC fan puts itself on full for just a burst, then quits.

I may be benighted, but I'm having trouble grokking why the car would do this. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! Reno, on assignment in France.

Mine does, exactly the same, it makes all manner of quiet little whooshing and buzzing noises whenever I open a door/tailgate... all very entertaining, no idea why!  Lloyd Barnes
