Yes, I do this with a blu-ray player and Sky+. Works like a champ. Connected with SCART into the input port on the sky box.

Get an AV reciever and plug everything into that - means only one cable to TV and decent surround sound too...

As above get a decent AV Amp, i have a sony and its rock solid and you'd be hard pushed to find one without HDMI these days, and means you can have some good speakers as well for about £500 all in Smile

Or if you want a decent system that won't break the bank look at Onkyo - very similar performance to Sony/Pioneer systems for half the price.

Admittedly not as good for audio purists, but if its just surround sound from a DVD/TV, there's no point in going overboard!

I went half/half,
Sony amp/Onkyo 7.1 Very Happy

When you hear it after your first movie in your living room for the first time you'll wonder why you listened to poor sound before Very Happy PS if you have sky+HD then get the fibre connector for the surround sound from it Smile

Previously had all that surround stuff years ago and done away with it , in fact its all lying in the cupboard just now 6 dvd/cd player amp surround speakers and all that guff , basically i thought i could just hook up a dvd player to the existing sky+HD box via scart as Dom said earlier for the daughter to watch but thats not the case ………

Guessing it must be something in the settings i am doing wrong as there are 3 other tv's and a cctv system wired into the sky+HD box Rolling Eyes
