Heater won't get interior above 22 degrees

Hello Fellow L322 owners.
I am looking for some help with the heating on my 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster . I drained and refilled the cooling system with new antifreeze using a vacuum system filler. Set the heating controls to max 28 degrees and put the fan on manual maximum and ran the engine at 2000 rpm until gauge was mid scale on the dash as described in the manual. Bled the air out of the bleed screw near the expansion tank (wasn't much) then let the engine cool overnight. Checked the level the next day and topped it up then went for a drive. There is barely any temp from the air vents, just takes the chill off.
I connected the Gap tool and searched around looking for clues to the fault. Cleared all faults but still no different. The interior temp only gets to about 22 degrees (outside is 13). I'll attach the screen shots showing the readings.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance
Andy

It could be a faulty thermostat. There's a rubber seal that comes off and gets wedged in the thermostat that holds it open, not allowing or slowing it's way to the proper running temp. I've had it happen in a very cold environment (-10° F) and my cab wouldn't heat up....

Morning all.
Dismantled the cooling system changeover valve yesterday in case it was getting stuck or blocked but it was fine. Checked the solenoid was working by applying 12v directly and then reassembled with some silicon grease but still the same. All 3 pipes stay cold when the engine is up to temperature so it must be something else. Checked the temperature of the 2 flow pipes to the heater matrix which were warm, the single return pipe was cool which indicates to me that either the 2 control valves are not opening, the auxiliary pump is not working or there is an airlock.

Anybody else had an airlock like this and know how to clear it?

Thanks Andy

Did it work OK before you changed the coolant?

I hadn’t tried turning the heat up prior to draining and refilling the coolant so it’s possible this fault has been there all along. I have ordered a new changeover valve in case the existing valve is faulty after all.

When I refilled my coolant, I filled the expansion tank to max first and then got a small funnel in the bleed screw on the hose and got another litre of coolant in.
Try letting the system cool completely and then take out the bleed screw and see if the hose has space for more coolant. Don't undo the coolant tank cap before though because it just releases any vacuum left and fills the hose.
Worth a try.

All done, working as it should at last, it was the changeover valve.
Found a replacement on Amazon, £35, amazing value https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DL9XS5H6?ref=fed_asin_title.

Had to buy a special tool to remove the hose clips https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IFFV97E?ref=fed_asin_title

Hope this helps other people.
Happy Easter

Nice one. Is that the one on the drivers side for the fbh?
I have a code for a failed aux pump and wondered if that valve has to get a signal to make the pump work.
