Parking brake light (on switch, not dash) am i mad?

ok, maybe my OCD is kicking in...

Can any other 405 owners out there tell me if the symbol on the parking brake lights up or not please. I don't mean the one on the dash but the actually switch on the centre console.

I can't help feeling it should light, the symbol isn't a transfer, and my finger nail can feel the edges making me think there is, or could be a light behind to shine through.

anyone else thought the same thing or know the answer, thanks. -------------------------------

Hi Phc606, I’m pretty sure there isn’t a light on that button. I would’ve checked but my car is in repair at the moment.

Just checked my L405 and yes the symbol on the switch does illuminate when the lights are on.

Thanks DrF, that's interesting, wonder if it's a pre facelift thing then, would seem odd but hey...

anyone with a facelift with the switch light working? -------------------------------

thank you, i might try and get mine working some time.

i find the auto hand brake thing is kinda useful, but am in the habit of checking the light before taking the foot of the brake etc (engine off) so no light is increasing my paranoia Wink -------------------------------

Arh, sorry all, perhaps i've not been clear. I was expecting it to light red when engaged.

now that I see the pics you've kindly shared it makes sense it would light at night in white, perhaps I'm smoking something to expect it to be red, not sure what's making me think it should, must be from another car perhaps. -------------------------------

Oh, OK, I understand, it certainly does not turn red on mine, just the dashboard indicator...
