285/40/22 fit fine with absolutely no rubbing issues, they are the closest to the original rolling radius as OEM fit. I have run these on 2x L405’s and also 285/50/20 in the winter with AT’s on.

If you go up an aspect ratio size to 285/45/22 you may experience rubbing and you will also raise the gearing which will dull acceleration depending on which engine you have.

Many in the states run 285/45/22 as these are also standard fit on some yank 4x4’s. Their 405 engines tend to be the higher output V8’s 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I am running 285/45R22 and can only say that I love them. No issues with rubbing etc but you may do if you were to go for off road tyres, but not with standard road tyres.

I think they are the perfect size - sidewall but still responsive, fill the arches, good ride characteristics, readily available as a standard size (standard fit on L460 so can get LR OEM fitment).

In terms of gearing, I have a TDV6 and not noticed any negative effects in terms of acceleration etc. there is more than enough torque to handle a slightly larger tyre.
