United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey
What Next?

We are debating replacing our 60k miles 2017 AVB after nearly 6 years of ownership.

We used it for caravan towing about 12 times / year and often have the seats folded down and the back full of reenactment stuff. It's also a daily drive though I'm hybrid working so it doesn't get huge mileage on it. I'd love it to be economical but you don't really buy an RR for that.

Whether we still need to do the towing or stuff the car full is TBD due to other plans (camper van) so I'm dithering about the replacement and whether an RR Sport would cut it after owning an L405. I don't like the Disco Sport....

On the fatties, is there a table of what models are available when? I'm seeing 4.4 AVBs up to 2021 (are they actually 2020 models?) and then it seems to be hybrid territory but I can't work out the progession of engine options from say 2020 to 2023 - which order do the below models appear;
Looks like 3.0 D350 MHEV, 3.0 D300 MHEV and 2.0 P400e?

Is the 2.0 the Ingenium engine I've read horror stories about - also seems to be a small engine for a big car. Similarly, is the 3.0 different to the 3.0 SDV6 that had the issues?

If the 4.4 was still going through the years above I'd probably default to another of those.
Any comments or advice gratefully received.

PS I'll get excited about mostly EV vehicles when I downsize and / or the infrastructure is much better.
PPS please feel free to direct me to any relevant threads I failed to find. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

I expect people are getting fed up with me singing the praises of the D300, but it is a brilliant engine, bags of oomph, very quite and economical. I've had many 3l engines but this MHEW is superb and no problems with any of them Thumbs Up

Can't comment on the torque for pulling a caravan though. All LR cars from 1984

D300/D350 aren’t hybrid in the way the P400e is, ie they don’t ever run solely on electric power - just a bit of assistance from a very small battery and motor.

Ack. Forgot to say I'd read what an MHEV was. 'Mild' indeed. Laughing 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Don’t forget the P400 (not the e). Lovely thing. Mine’s a 2021 and gives not much different mpg to my old L322 4.4TDV8 when I’m pottering about. Not as good on fuel on the motorway but petrol is cheaper than diesel anyway. 2021 3.0 P400 Vogue
