Throttle Body Elbow / Pipe Part ID

Been tidying up my engine bar and sorting out some odd repairs by previous owners, which also included a new oil cooler as my local indy said it had a water leak (that I never found but did it anyway, but suspect it was the O ring on the water pipe so changed that too)

First question.....is there supposed to be an O ring inside the below that goes onto the throttle body

Second question....down to the right of the cover on the fuel pump I see a plastic U shaped pipe that looks suspiciously like a vent pipe....tracing it down appears to join onto a metal pipe that disappears rearwards. but the top is not attached to anything, hence me thinking its a vent pipe of some description....does anyone have any ideas?

That green thing inside the throttle body elbow is the o ring, some folk on here have put in additional o rings because it does feel loose, others have used PTFE tape. I replaced my throttle body a couple of years ago and didn’t change the o ring and mine is fine.

If you’re getting soot near where the intake joins the throttle body then you might want to look at modding it, there’s threads on here with the o ring size if you search.

Can’t help with the other tube though.

I also have a 2012 4.4 and my throttle body was leaking a little evidenced by oil misting. Following advice on here I purchased o rings for this and fitted 2. It's now seating perfectly and no longer feels loose or leaks. I have a couple spare and happy to post to you if you would like. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini black ivory leather
