Anti roll bar replacement

Has anybody ever managed to replace the entire front anti roll bar? How does it actually come out as looking at it I can’t see how I would replace without dropping the subframe etc….. 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8

It can be changed by unbolting the subframe, then dropping the rear enough to remove it.

So this can be done (excellent advice SteveG - thank you) - but what a PITA job......

There are 6 long coach style bolts holding the front subframe in place - remove the 4 at the rear of the subframe, have another jack handy to cradle the subframe and gently lower the front 2 bolts equally and you can then start the onerous task of beating the old anti roll bar out and towards the rear of the car (you basically have to 'slip' it over the rear subframe mounting and back towards the rear).

Bought a new one from AdvancedFactors and it is a great replacement albeit they are bloody heavy so beware!

Initial driving upon completion - front end feels a lot tighter and does feel like theres less front end roll. The original has been in place since 2007 so wasnt the prettiest and also i imagine quite fatigued. Bushes were knackered.

Either way - not a bad job really - I did faff........ 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8

Daft question (never done a front subframe) but is it not possible to get one of those engine supports, support the engine from the top, with the bar hanging over the wing with supports.

If that was possible, is it not a case of dropping the front down and rolling out the bar.
