Faint chimes every 2 seconds

The vehicle is MY21.5 D350. I can't find the cause of a faint chiming bell sound that is occurring every 2 seconds whilst the engine is running and for a short while after the engine is switched-off. There aren't any instrument cluster messages or warning lights, the bonnet has been re-shut and nothing seems out of place.
Any suggestions? MY21.5 D350 Vogue SE Carpathian Grey

Check that the tow-bar isn't partially deployed - that chime drove me mad for a few days until I worked it out.... 2017 - L405 SC - WOW! just WOW!
2014 - L405 4.4
2010 - L322 3.6 - Carried me 100,581 miles then broke big-time

Those that understand binary,
and those that don't.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't have a deployable towbar. MY21.5 D350 Vogue SE Carpathian Grey

How is the deployable towbar deployed? That might provide a clue. MY21.5 D350 Vogue SE Carpathian Grey

You don't have a dashcam by any chance. Few years ago, I had the same scenario in my new BMW 6 series Grand Coupe. Went into the dealership, service guy came out, heard the noise, checked a few things then happened to look at the dashcam. Censored Whistle Big Cry Felt so Embarassed

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes I installed a dashcam. I assume that your dashcam was making the sound, not the car because the dashcam was fitted. I'll certainly investigate. I suppose its an audible indication that it's working but not one that I want. MY21.5 D350 Vogue SE Carpathian Grey

Spot-on chicb! The dashcam was constantly restarting, possibly due to write errors from my having swapped out a larger card for a smaller one without reformatting. MY21.5 D350 Vogue SE Carpathian Grey
