first post here.

I have a 2014 Autobiography SDV8 which has been maintained by LR up until I purchased 10 months ago.
It has been back to LR under warranty for various items but nothing related to my new symptoms.

My symptoms are as follows:

When driving the following suddenly appear: ABS fault, parking brake fault, HDC fault, stability control fault, the steering becomes stiff as if the PS is limited.
The car then will lower the suspension.

Then just as suddenly the vehicle will go back to normal, it has been getting worse but can go for a couple of days without an issue.

So, I hooked up SDD and one of the issues is the front right speed sensor, displaying as a 100% fault,
If i cycle through the events, this is the first triggered item and everything else follows.

It does point to the sensor and I am pretty sure I read on here a user who had the same symptoms and it turned out to be the sensor.

I suppose it could always be the earth in the wheel arch throwing the sensor out, again I have read issues with that on here.

Anyway, if anybody could shed their thoughts it would be most helpful.

Sounds to me like the wheel sensor will most likely be the fault. It'll throw up all the warnings you have seen (although not sure about the park brake one!).

It could also be the wheel bearing, if that's got play in it, it can throw up a fault like the one you're seeing.

Any bearing rumbles? How many miles on your RR?

No wheel bearing rumbles, vehicle drives beautifully. Park brake fully functional. Its got 101k on the clock and iam the 3rd owner.

I had been for a descent drive prior to plugging it in so I wouldve thought the battery would be good, however now you mention it SSD had the battery symbol in Yellow.

Probably not bearing relateed then.

As stated, it could well be a faulty wheel sensor, or dirt in the trigger ring.

Good call from Stan, a failing battery (low voltage) or corroded earth straps can cause all sorts of issues!

I had to replace a rear wheel sensor a few weeks ago for these very symptoms. My first thoughts were that it was the battery, which I replaced as it was still on its original but it didn’t fix it. I also checked the earth point but they were also fine.

Getting the old one out was a bit of a challenge. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Ah thanks for that, really good to know Iam in the right area.
Going to have a look this week when I get time.

The park brake module uses wheel speed data to know what mode it should engage the park brake with, so to me, it makes sense that you would get a park brake error too..

Oh yes of course! Never thought of that, it does make sense!

Another vote for ABS sensor.
I had all your symptoms and LR assist diagnosed a failed ABS sensor. The guy explained that the heavy steering was by design and provides a little more feed back as more effort is required, as the car essentiallly doesn’t know what happening with the errant wheel. L460 460e PHEV AB. Belgravia green.
