United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Baltic Blue
Boot won't auto open.

I have just purchased a 2013 Vogue.

The car is lovely, only issue is that the boot won't auto open off the Key.
If you press the button on the boot and give it a little lift ( like an inch) it will continue to open on its onw.
It will close all on its own with no issues.

It s like the motor is not strong enough to do the initial lift.
Although I've just been back out to it and it opened fine off the key.
Could it be a battery issue and if so where would I find the battery to check? 2013 Vogue 4.4 TDV8

This is more than likely to be a battery problem. Worth putting on charge overrnight. (Terminals under bonnet).
Main battery is underneath spare wheel, second battery, if you have one (some have capacitors instead) is in offside boot area.

Also worth doing a battery health check, because even if charging and holding enough volts from your charger, they can still cause problems. I had exactly the same issue as you, new battery resolved it. L460 460e PHEV AB. Belgravia green.

IIRC you need a 10mm socket, preferably a long one...

Removing the spare is the tough bit, I'm 6ft 5 so don't have an issue but it can be a stretch and it's very heavy.... Once thats out unbold the suspension pump and move it out the way then remove the battery, again, very heavy there is a spare wire and connector under there which should be as it is, unplugged...!

If you go to the WIKI, link under faullfatrr.com top right, you can download the workshop manual and the handbook.... Thumbs Up

I always use www.tayna.co.uk but shop about, second battery is under rear offside boot panel... Pete

It’s an easy job, 10 minutes max to get to battery, carefully lifting aside the suspension compressor.
If you can’t be bothered though, even Halfrauds do a reasonable price to supply and fit. They’ll code the battery to the car…although I don’t believe this is essential. Car learns eventually that it has a new battery. L460 460e PHEV AB. Belgravia green.

Many thanks everyone, I have to pop to Halfords on Saturday anyway so might see if they can change the battery while I'm there.
With my car been a 2013 would it have a 2nd battery and if so and I best changing both for piece of mind or with the car starting fine is this one going to be okay.

Life was so much easier with my defender. 2013 Vogue 4.4 TDV8

Small update,
Went over the weekend got a new battery fitted and all coded in nicely.

Boot is still not operating as it should, I'm guessing the struts are going to be the next thing to look at, has anyone changed these is it an easy job. 2013 Vogue 4.4 TDV8

Just guessing and changing bits can end up costing a lot and you still have the problem...

Next thing to do is get the codes read, there will probably be some codes which may steer you towards the fault...

Either pay a specialist or buy a Gap IID which is an expensive outlay but you get a lot of it back if you sell it...

Some have had a result with cheaper code readers but I don't think anything does what the IID will do unless you have a professional setup.... Thumbs Up Pete

I have to have a look for a Gap IID tool.

Although I'm not very tech savy. 2013 Vogue 4.4 TDV8

It might be worth considering the Autel AP200. It is not as full featured, or as pretty as the GAP IID tool, but it can read the codes.
I agree with others that without knowing what the car is detecting, you're just guessing.

Might be a daft question..but have you also done a boot reset?
Manually open boot to its full extent and then press and hold the boot button on the tailgate until you hear confirmatory chirps. L460 460e PHEV AB. Belgravia green.
