Tyres ! L460

hello everyone , new owner of L460 D350 AB (previously L405) .....only had a month or so and agree with all comments on here regarding some tacky buttons , quirky light switches and what were they thinking about the roof bar brackets (dealer fit !!! unbelievable).
Anyway on a positive note I do love the car so far ...4 wheel steering is amazing and the PiviPro is massive improvement on previous.

2 questions if anyone can comment help ?

1 the car is on stock Pirelli all season (285/45/22) - has anyone used on snow ? Asking since we are off to the Alps at the weekend. Will throw in some ladder chains , but really curious about the Pirellis . In the past I have always had proper winters.

2 was just messing around the other day had the doors open and boot and going in and out (engine OFF) and then an alarm came up 'battery low, start engine' !!! Obviously by opening the doors/ boot etc the car had woken up. Has anyone come across this before ? I started the engine and warning went away. Bytheway the car is just under 3 with 40 k miles...thinking the battery can need replacing already !!

Any comments welcome.

PS will report back here after the Alps trip to let everyone know of any issues !

Congratulations on your new car! I also have a D350 and love it.

On the tyres I have driven to the Alps on the same tyres as yours in previous years - absolutely fine on snow. This year I was on Michelin Primacy all seasons which were also great. Put it like this - on a snow covered switchback last week I was fine while other cars with snow chains on were struggling.

I suspect your battery is just a bit depleted and needs a long run to charge it up. They are li-ion on the L460 and so I doubt it needs replacing. Mine behaves the same way as yours when run down and I repeatedly open the tailgate / open the doors which make the steps deploy etc.

Have a great trip and post photos!

thanks Freddy Bear...

good to know about the tyres ..I kind of suspected they would be ok on lightish snow you get in resort ...we are expecting snow on arrival . I have the chains the K Summit K79 for 22 inch wheels so will chuck them in just in case. I also think I will replace with the Michelins when the Pirellis wear since I've heard good things about the Michelins.

I didnt know the 12v battery was Li-Ion I guess that's why its expensive - Rimmer Bros over £1000 !!

Will post some pics of journey ! many thanks

Definitely throw the chains in, regardless if they are all season, the French at least require you to have full winters or chains in the mountains just in case. You probably won’t need them, but don’t forget them. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
