The oil was changed every annual service as we only do around 6k per year .In hindsight i wish i had it changed twice a year but there was absolutely no warning`s or any signs of it going to happen |

![]() A taxi might have been a whole lot cheaper, if you’d turned off the engine there & then. After 8 miles, a lot more damage is very likely. Sorry to hear about your woes, best of luck. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that? |

After seeing the damage to my son's TDV6, once a noise was heard the crankshaft would likely to have been ruined. If it didn't seize then at least the conrods and pistons might be OK. |
