Lithium ion starter battery

Does anyone know what jump starter pack is suitable for my 2024 D350 Autobiography.
I forgot to disable the alarm on our last ferry trip from Spain and the battery went completely flat. I had to use the emergency key to get in. I had a lithium power pack with me but it would not connect. The ferry companies jump starter would not work . Land Rover assist came and jumped it somehow. Since then I’ve had random messages "Low battery start engine" then it’s fine. Called LRA and they came out and updated the RFA module which was a known issue. I asked what jump starter I should have as standby and he wasn’t sure as it’s a lithium Ion battery. He did point out the label under the bonnet that says max 13.7 volts with a picture that looks like a jump start. I called the dealer who service it and they don’t know but are going to investigate.
For interest the battery is located under the drivers seat and can only be removed when the car is on a ramp.!!
Sorry to ramble on but I’m a bit nervous about my next ferry trip

Sorry to hear about your issues...

I have the same car with the same battery. Pls let us know once they come back to you with the recommendation of a suitable jump starter.

JLR eventually came back and told me I need Lemania Energy P20. It’s Swiss made.
I couldn’t find any in the uk and I couldn’t find any difference in its specification from the host of others available.
I’m waiting for another company to get back to me.
I’m appalled at the lack of information from JLR, I’m beginning to wish I’d kept my 4.4 TDV8.

Typical JLR lazy reply. They can't be bothered.

I looked it up as well and it seems you can't find it in UK. But also, even if you can, it's 16kgrs! so probably ok in a van of LR road assist but not ideal for a car owner. Surely there should be other options.

And there was me thinking that an improvement makes things more straightforward, never realised that there were lithium starter batteries, and as far as I can tell I don't want one either..
Just read these guidelines on how to deal witha a dead litium battery.

There are plenty of battery chargers available suitable for lithium car batteries, but very little in the way of jump starter packs. I couldn't find any with my (very) quick search for one's which specifically state suitable for Lithium car batteries.

Any Google search for one, is fogged by the fact that most car jump packs contain lithium batteries themselves! Confused

I'm surprised that the starter battery was allowed to go flat by the battery management system in the first place. Is there a wider fault with this vehicle? Or is this something that can happen if the alarm is going off for several hours, or lights are left on, etc?

I'm glad I read this post. I didn't know the Li-ion starter battery couldn't be jumped with something like a TopDon, which I've owned and used on out other cars for a while now.

Like what has been said, there seem to be chargers but no jump starters.

I'm starting to think our L460's could be troublesome outside of their warranty 2024 P550e Autobiography

I've had a reply from JLR who say there is no recommended jump starter and to just call Land Rover assistance.
Then asked about jumping from another vehicle, same answer call assistance.
Just off to Spain via the ferry to Bilbao so we'll see.
Regarding protection to stop it going flat, it's supposed to but whether the alarm ignores that I don't know.
This is progress? 😂😭
