Crikey, they have gone up in price since I bought mine (must be 8 or 9 years ago) - still going strong though. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

If anyone is looking for a cheap battery charger, check out the ones from Lidl. They have a range of settings and do the adjustable conditioning charge. The bigger one was £24 and the small one was £15 from memory and all Lidl electricals come with a 3 year warranty. I have been using them on cars SORNed over the winter months and all good.
Definitely worth a shot.

I’ve got my M3 permenantly plugged in on one I bought for someone as a gift, then forgot to give it to them only to be found in the drawer 6 months later….. 🤣 win. It does mean I can keep the msx10 for the Fattie tho.

I think I paid £75 around April last year There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I have a ctek that I use on my car regularly, but I also have Aldi chargers in the family one on our MG and one on my sons Porsche

They are all now 4 years old and I can tell no difference between the Aldi and Ctek, so would I buy another ctek, no not a hope in hell especially at £75

One advantage of the ctek is that it has an inline connector for which you can buy an extension lead, but at an extortionate price of £18!

Aldi or Lidl for me when one packs up.

Similar experience here across many chargers over many years. The ALDI 5A one is particularly good.

I have the Lidl one and it's brilliant. Only cost £15 3 years ago and it does the job very well indeed.
Now the only problem with the Lidl one that some folk complain about is, that it don't restart should there be a power cut, but let's face it, how often do you have a power cut?

Re the Aldi chargers, it may depend on the model. I foune they wouldn’t restart if the power went off and came back on, it went into monitor mode.

I went to UK/Europe for a 6 week holiday. The day after I left there was a short duration blaxkout.

When I got home from Europe, the P38A battery was flat. The Ctek restarts after a blackout. I never use the two Aldi chargers any more. Ron B. VK2OTC

Have quite a few smart chargers - CTEK, NOCO and Lidl - they all work well as battery maintainers, but I’ve had three Lidl ones stop working. All the others are still going strong.
