thoughts

an LWB has turned up for sale not a million miles away from me, its quite a bit older than what I was looking for (64 plate) its got 66k miles, looks like full main dealer history..... its black which I dont really like but I could live with...... its up at £24k which if I could get it a bit cheaper then I could be tempted.

the age is the main thing that worries me, older than my current q7 and really I wanted a sub 50k mile 18 plate or newer..........

what do we think? its a car city in catterick

they are like proverbial rocking horse, ive seen maybe 3 in 18 months that had the everything ticked..... the downsides on this are exterior colour & age...... on the flipside its got the tow bar, its the diesel, it appears good history and it appears reasonably priced...... the ones I really wanted are late £40'000's

ideally I would like a green, red or purple one but they are thin on the ground in SWB never mind LWB

my current q7, I bought as it seemed good on paper even if boring inc colour etc, but I now love it as its so reliable..... I thought about going to have a look and see what it's like in the flesh......

As the other guys have said, it seems the only thing that suits you is it’s relatively close to you. The rest seem to everything you don’t want, so I’d suggest sitting on your hands and not regret jumping too soon. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

I understand what you all mean BUT if you forget the issues with colour and aged you think that its looks a decent car/ its has the tow bar that I wanted which is unusual in these cars......

Don’t forget you can add a tow bar cheaply & easily, the same can’t be said for age & colour.

not quite chicb no one said it was too expensive? also I like the interior colour......

I thought that people might be able to give me their opinion on whether they thought relative to what else was available / about currently....

so apart from the summary you've given, have you got an opinion or is that a bridge to far for ? Whistle

I’m half looking out for a 405, must be AB with signature hifi…. And other things….. Don’t see colours I like, used to not like black wheels, now I think they look good with right colour…. I look back at my L322 when I walk away from it in car park… 405 gonna have to be special for me to do that.

If it doesn’t tick every box I’m not even going to look at it 🤣

Just my 2p.

For me, when I'm looking (for AB spec) I focus on the engine/interior/exterior colour as they are things you can't change.

Wheels, side steps, towbar, even trim piece colour can all be changed or painted at relatively small cost compared to the car itself.

As L405 have been out of production for 4 years it's probably the best way to find one you like.

There can't be many LWB's with a tow bar - seems a kind of odd combination as I'd have thought most were bought as chauffeured vehicles and not for towing.

The additional mileage is (IMHO) irrelevant at that age, but why did you want an 18 or newer - for the face lift features ?
