Hi all,

I'm on the look out for a 4.4 TDV8 L405. Adaptive cruise control has always been a feature I personally like, so any car I buy must have this feature. I'm budgeting around £20K, but slightly more for the right vehicle. Around this price I guess I'm looking at 2016 cars.

L322 Vogue SE's (VSE's) had it as standard, my old one did. But I note that this feature was dropped as standard equipment on the L405 VSE, so was narrowing my searches down to AB's.

Then I seemed to see a lot of 2016+ L405 VSE's with adaptive cruise.

My question is, was it re-introduced as standard equipment in the UK from a certain build date?

I had started to think it was around 2016 from scrutinising pictures of steering wheels in adverts on Autotrader, but then just saw a 66 plate VSE without it.

i have a 2021.5 SE and it doesn't have ACC as standard All LR cars from 1984
2021.5 Vogue SE D300 Carpathian Grey
2018 Vogue SE British Racing Green GONE

My late 2017 SE doesn’t have it. I assume it’s an extra. Might be standard on an Autobiography spec. 2017 (67) Vogue SE Corinthian Grey

Done some deep digging and think I've answered my own question here...

By comparing the 2015,2016 & 2017 UK car brochures, I've determined it became standard on the VSE for the 2015 year only, then disappeared again, to become optional equipment again:

2016 brochure doesn't list as standard equipment, nor does 2017. I also looked at the 2014 brochure, but can't tell what features are on what car from that year's brochure!

Thanks Abacus4054 - ACC is standard on the AB, I knew that already, but was widening my search to include VSE's as well.

I've always been under the impression that it was standard on the VSE from the introduction of the L405, in the UK. Kev

Seems ACC became an option on the Vogue SE. Not sure if that's from introduction in 2013, but certainly from 2016 it was an option.

I can't make head nor tails of the 2014 catalogue, the exterior plastic trim and interior leather colour choices seemed more important to LR than mentioning what features the various spec cars had!

But from the brochures, it seems certain that in 2015 ACC was standard on the VSE, but by 2016 and onwards it wasn't!

I suspect it was never available as standard on the L405 VSE, but seems it was just for 2015, which maybe why I see it on so many 2015 cars and early 2016 cars, after that, it's there, but in fewer numbers, unless the buyer ticked that particular option box!

My previous L405 2016 MY, it was standard on a VSE.

My last one doesn’t have it. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I believe it comes as standard if you have the front radar fitted - sometimes need IID to enable it if not available via the dash.

My previous car, 2016 MY VSE had adaptive cruise fitted, but I was never sure whether or not it was an extra since the car had other things which were extra, like HUD and extended leather. Yes, all L405 AB's have ACC as standard. I knew that bit.

Regarding L405 VSE's, I've determined that it became standard fitment for MY15 vehicles, but removed for the MY2016 vehicles and on.

I don't think it was a standard fitment on the VSE from 2012-2014. Unlike the L322 where ACC was standard fitment on the VSE.

Hi Kev,

ACC is a feature I really like and is a must-have for me, having had it on several cars in the past, including my L322 VSE (which I should never have sold). I'd been looking at L405 AB's, but couldn't find the right car, so widened the search to include VSE's as well, thinking they'd all have ACC, like the L322 VSE did.

But, I started to find loads of L405 VSE's withoutt ACC controls on the steering wheel. Admittedly, I think my search criteria would have been for 2016 and newer vehicles, though.

I've just spent a good while looking at AT this morning, and specifically searched for 2013 & 2014 VSE's - every car I've looked at has ACC controls on the steering wheel!

So, it looks like L405 VSE's were introduced with ACC from launch, but lost that feature from MY 2016 onwards.

I think it's this fact that’s thrown me, because it's uncommon for a manufacturer to remove features from a model... but hey this is JLR!
