Range Rover Order

I placed an order through my company's car lease provider on 16 Jan 25.

I wanted to make a change to the specified wheels and they are saying that the change isn't possible as it has already been allocated a build slot since then.

A few questions spring to mind:

1. Is it standard practice that changes can't be made after a build slot has been allocated?
2. If so, does that definitely apply to wheel choice, which logically feels like there should be more flexibility with given their nature?
3. Is it normal for a build slot to be allocated so quickly from initial order?

Many thanks in advance for the support!

So once the car is allocated a build slot it usually becomes “spec locked” meaning you can’t change anything on the order inc wheels - you need to go to the factory and have a tour to see the build process and system Thumbs Up

LR did have a huge amount of unsold stock and stopped RR production for about 3-4 months but this is now finished and production is back up and fully running so if they get a confirmed customer order it is now pretty much allocated a build slot within a couple of weeks.

It is also possible the dealer had a car on order that was cancelled by the customer but the dealer kept to order open. Thus, a car that could have been ordered a month or so ago was now available but was close to being allocated a build slot - you placed an order, they changed to order to suit your needs and it was then allocated a very short build slot.

Hope this helps and let us know what you have ordered etc Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.
