I’m getting a sporadic error P117B error and restricted performance coming up occasionally. It’s also appeared alongside a P2031 error as well once (egt sensor, bank 1 sensor 2).

The IiDtool doesn’t list a description against it nor is it very clear from the web nor am I near to a workshop manual either. Anyone got any ideas of where to start / insights ?

P117B-00(6C) is the full error code. V8 or else ...

Hi fisha. P117B-00 is a bank 1 EGT sensor with no specific sub type (e.g. sensor 1 or 2) defined.

Coincidentally I had the P2031 appear yesterday and I've just been out to soak the sensor in PlusGas with the intention of fitting a replacement on Friday.

I believe the P2031 is only triggered on a cold start. So yours may be showing the correct resistance to the module on cold start, but then goes out of spec when it's being used.

Given you had the P2031 appear, I'd start with checking the wiring on the bank 1 sensor 2 (post catylist, pre-DPF) for a short to ground and if it checks out alright, replace the sensor. It's part number LR022906.

Interesting thanks. So the 2 are linked potentially , and yes it was from a cold start this morning it triggered.

First time round I looked at the sensor 2 for the P2031. I disconnected the sensor harness plug and measured the resistance across the terminals which it was in the correct range (6.6Mohms) at cold … so it almost made me think there is potentially a ground issue or something other that the sensor.

I’ll start soaking it though to get it out. V8 or else ...
