The key doesnt work in the lock; so do you have a different lock set ignition to doors? Does the key start the car?
Does the key work in either door?
There is a fuse for central locking (if you have it) and the alarm, you can always pull that whilst you work out why the key won't work. Otherwise you may need to change all the door locks and ignition barrel to a known set with a key.
